Watchmen Movie

When I heard that a Watchmen movie was in the works, I admit, I cringed a little. I've never red the Graphic Novel fully, mostly because I didn't want to just pirate it and actually find/buy a copy, but I know enough of it's reputation to know that there are going to be a lot of finicky fanboys out there.

Then, 5 minutes ago, I finally got to watch the trailer. I fanboyed so hard I think the geek next door felt it. I may have to read the Graphic Novel now. <.<;

http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/watchmen/

My Method to Popping Doors

I had someone ask me last night how I approach popping doors on cars in training, cause I always seem to do a good job, so far. Normally I don't answer this, but what the hell, I will today. I come to this the same way I've always came to it after a friend of mine in Ohio whose father was a Vol. Firemen, as well as herself, taught me in a conversation we had on the subject years ago.

You see, they're not like cutters, they said. With Cutters you can sometimes get away with just going flat out open, and closed, with some adjustments. With Spreaders, however, it's a whole different story. With Spreaders you got to look at it like based on it's name and what you're doing. You're spreading a slit. A small slit, so that you can fit something larger into it. Well, what does that remind you of? You spreader. Spread-er, "Spread Her" slit. Any man with the smallest knowledge of being with their woman knows you don't take a small slit then ram three fingers into her. You do you're just going to tear her vaginal walls, and it's not going to be pleasent for her.

No, you ease into it. Slowly spreading as you work deeper, you make sure you're not spreading in something you're not, and you just work your way deeper, and deeper into her until you hit that magic spot and then you let her have it. After all, when you hit that spot that's when she's ready for it.

Just like a girl, every car and every door is built different, and some take more of an easing into, and some don't. But if you hit something that shouldn't be there, you need to step back, then adjust yourself and more often then not you're near where you need to be.

So yeah, that's it. That's how I was taught by a couple of Rescues up north a couple years back on how to pop a door. You approach it like you're fingering a girl for the first time. Now this coming from someone whose only done it twice, and both times I've popped the door off clear as you'd please, and on the last one got a nice review for it, well.. Yeah. Just sucks I can't share this with most of the guys cause they'll think I'm just bullshitting. =P But, I've done it like this every time, and I've never had any complaints...

On both fronts.

The Music List, take one.

A lot of people ask me what my favorite songs are. Problem is I've always had a varied taste in music. I tend to wander from Metal to Europop, Goth Industrial to... Well whatever. Sad thing is where I live at most people haven't even heard of most of the bands I like, or they're too young to remember them/know of them.

So, thanks to boredom, I'm going to post a few links off the youtube to some songs I like. I encourage you to check them all out, of course it's not like I'm going to hold it to you if you don't, it's just you never know if you might actually like one of them or not.

So, where to start... How about with the most underrated artist in the world, Voltaire. This guy is brilliant. He does silly songs, he does heartfelt songs, he does it all. Sadly, he has no music videos that I know of, but he's a talented musician hitting the club/con circuit.

Voltaire- "When you're Evil."
<lj-embed id="17" />

Another band that's highly underrated, but deserves a listen would be the Dresden Dolls. I only recently found out about them, about two-three months back. The lead singer is cute, she and her partner put out some really deep lyrics and she's quite possibly one of the best people at wordplay I've ever seen.

Dresden Dolls- "Coin Operated Boy"
<lj-embed id="18" />

Dresden Dolls- "Girl Anachronism"
<lj-embed id="19" />

Dresden Dolls- "Missed Me." (Live.)
<lj-embed id="20" />

Dresden Dolls- "Backstabber" (NSFW. Nudity in the video.)
<lj-embed id="21" />

Speaking of being "down with the japanese" (See what I did there?) over the years I've actually found a lot of foriegn bands that have caught my attention. Either the Asian with the many influences of Visual Kei, or German metal, it pretty much runs the spectrum. Starting with actual english speaking bands first.

Lordi, what can I say about Lordi? They're a crazy Norwegian Band that can only be described as an updated version of KISS if they where to hook up with Alice Cooper. I don't know if I'd classify them as power-metal because the videos are heavy in the "Late 50's Monster Movie" way. In any case they are just one of those you'd have to listen to to see if they're for you or not.

Lordi- "Would you love a Monsterman?"
<lj-embed id="22" />

Lordi- "Blood Red Sandman"
<lj-embed id="23" />

Another english speaking band that started overseas that I have fallen in love with is a little known psychobilly (An offshoot of Rockabilly.) band called the Horrorpops. They got some air time on Jimmy Kimmel live which is great for them, but they're still pretty unknown as far as I know.

Horrorpops- Misstake
<lj-embed id="24" />

Which the Lead Singer's boyfriend, or husband I can't remember which, has a band of his own who go by Nekromantix.

Nekromantix- Horny in a Hearse
<lj-embed id="25" />

And then theirs...
Reverend Horton Heat- Galaxy 500
<lj-embed id="26" />

... Now with all the psychobilly bands out of the way back on tangent. Of course there are a couple bands that aren't in english that I love. I've always been a believer that the true essence of music is in the emotion of it. As long as you can convey the emotion the understanding is there for the most part. So, for the non-english speaking portion of the list.. Don't worry I return to english bands after this.

Psycho Le Cemu. Visual Kei bands, like PLC, wear elaborate costumes and often play within a theme, or series of themes depending on the song they're doing. Psycho played the role of common elements in anime. Daishi was the hero, Aya (Yes, he's a man.) played the role of the lead girl in distress (Something common in asian media, often reffered back to the days of Kabuki theatre.) while the rest of the band played various roles.

Psycho Le Cemu- Gekai Merry go Round
<lj-embed id="27" />

Roman Hikou has to be one of the more pleasent videos I've seen. The band makes fun of themselves, the flow of CGI and live action is seamless. It's really a beautiful video in it's direction. I get a Dr. Sues vibe from it whenever I watch it.

Psycho le Cemu- Roman Hikou
<lj-embed id="28" />

Sadly, though, not all good bands last. Due to the lead singers drug addictions the band broke up, but not doing at least one last live performance. It's kinda sad to watch them struggle through the song due to the fact they're all crying so hard, but that's how things happen.

Psycho le Cemu- Remembrance (Live.)
<lj-embed id="29" />

However, the Musicians still perform. The guy who plays Aya, with Seek, have formed a new band and it's buisiness as usual.

Mixed Speaker's Inc- Thirteen
<lj-embed id="30" />

Of course I can't really bring up the asian music scene without giving a mention to my inspiration to start writing again. Year or so back I ran into the new Gundam SEED series. Now Gundam SEED's theme music, hell most of it's music, was recorded by an artist (I don't know his name, just the name it seems he goes by.) TM Revolution. So I started looking into him and I have to say some of his videos really stood out to me. He's a lot like Gackt in that there is typically a story of some kind in the video, it's not just "Oh hi there. We're playing music and blowing a budget worth more than your life on the black market. Lawl." Vestige is a great example of why I like the genre due to the story telling aspect in the video, and it also demonstrates what I mentioned earlier with the "Despite not knowing what the lyrics are you get a feeling for what the song is about."

TM Revolution- Vestige
<lj-embed id="31" />

However, Vestige isn't the reason I started writing again. After I started looking into TM I ran across a live performance of him performing Ignited, one of the opening tracks from the series.

TM Revolution- Ignited (Live.)
<lj-embed id="32" />

All those people packed in tight, as far as the camera can pan out (Something you see in further videos from this performance.) there to watch a pop idol perform the "opening" song to an animated series and going nuts. Not only that, but they chant the names of the characters, and it's not just one person, or a few people.. It's the entire crowd. I want that. I want it so bad that I feel bad for admitting it, my ego has just kicked into overdrive and I want to have that for myself. I want to create something that has such a devoted following and brings people such joy as that.

Of course, Gundam has a couple decades on me.

Which, TM is not the only pop idol to have lend his musical prowess to the Franchise.

Gackt- Metamorphoze
<lj-embed id="33" />

Gackt was also one of those musicians who I does the story aspect in the videos. I'm not going into it because it'll just be a rehash of what I said earlier, so I'll just throw in three videos.

Gackt- Oasis
<lj-embed id="34" />

Gackt- Mizerable
<lj-embed id="35" />

Gackt- Returner
<lj-embed id="36" />

While staying across the atlantic, but back to english speaking musicians. I've ran across quite a few who where large on the european market but didn't really make it here, at least not as well as they should be. They where one-hit wonders at best.

Aqua- Cartoon Heroes
<lj-embed id="37" />

This.. I don't like this song, but it's one of those things that, when you mention europop an Aqua, you can't help but throw in because it is quite possibly the gayest video to come out the Europop scene. It just has to be seen at least once in your life.

Toy-box- Sailor Song
<lj-embed id="38" />

Actually, this is. Which is hard to believe since it has both laser guns and light sabres both! God damn I need to go to sleep soon.

<lj-embed id="39" />

This, meanwhile, has to be one of the hottest video/songs to come from the same market.

Camille Jones, ft. Fedde Le Grand- The Creeps<lj-embed id="40" />

Now for the original by Camille.

Camille Jones- The Creeps
<lj-embed id="41" />

This is one of those hard moments when I don't know which I like better. Both are unique, and the remix is far from a butcher, in fact it's a great song in it's own right in my opinion. But! I was talking about under-rated bands, so back to that.

I've found a lot more people know about, even in this area, the band Our Lady Peace. This group was around before the big emo craze and are often mislabled as such.

Our Lady Peace- Life
<lj-embed id="42" />

Our Lady Peace- Naveed
<lj-embed id="43" />

Our Lady Peace- Somewhere Out There
<lj-embed id="44" />

Our Lady Peace- <lj-embed id="45" />

Prozzak, meanwhile, was one of those witty little bands that come only once in a decade.

Prozzak- Nevergetoveryou
<lj-embed id="46" />

Prozzak- Strange Disease
<lj-embed id="47" />

Which... I'm about ready to pass out so I'm going to just go ahead and finish this up without the commentary.

Ashbury Heights- Bare your Teeth
<lj-embed id="48" />

Ashbury Heights- Derrick is a Strange Machine
<lj-embed id="49" />

The Birthday Massacre- Lovers End (Live.)
<lj-embed id="50" />

The Birthday Massacre- Nevermind
<lj-embed id="51" />

Mind.in.a.box- Fear
<lj-embed id="52" />

Closing it for now. When I'm actually awake, I'll start this again, but as it seems I'm far too run down to attempt it.

Just when you start to forget that it's a fantasy comic and your mind formats itself to thinking it's real-life, boom. Paul drops a massive Sphinx on your lap. Oh, but I do love Phix. It almost begs me to wonder what he would create if he did a purely magical world not keyed into the real one in any way, but for some reason when I think about that I keep coming up with Xanth. Not that that is a bad thing.

Mentality: Media Whore or Net Diver

I've noticed an ongoing trend in the net as of late, specifically when it comes to the news. I've began to notice that some people are content sitting in their chairs and watching Fox, CNN or MSNBC, but in the vast network sea we're not content with just sitting quietly. Observing what information someone else has wrought together to bring to us. No, the Net Divers, or Divers, they want to look up the information as they can gather it from all legal sources. They're not content with just recieving the first few pages of the story, instead we, the Divers, we want to find every bit of information we can on the subject at hand, and then share it with others that we know are interested in it.

So why the names? Why be crude and reffer to the Media Whores as such, why not call them somethng else? Well, those of us who've been around the net for a while and have dived from one story to the next realise one important fact. The world is harsh. Modern American Media strives to cover everything with a PC Label. They do this so that they don't offend anyone, and they can keep the largest target audience. They do this for the money, and only for the Money. Sure, you can spout off that "liberals" created this PC vaccuum, but in all actuality they only gave it a name. It was going to happen sooner or later. Afterall, when the more people you can get to watch your station means the more you can charge for a thirty second spot between "breaking news," or the latest "Terror update" well.. It's hard to imagine many people would argue for the sake of targetting one particular audience.

We call them Media Whores, because they spread "aids." Aids, as it was before the countless mesh of meme-spouting flesh-goblins took all the meaning from it, was defined as a vile filth. It was a nasty opinionated slew of pure garbage that would rott away your mind if you dared to listen to it, and even further if you dared to believe in it. I reffer to those who watch as Media Whores because at some point they get so addicted to what the latest news story is, or whatever spoonfed bullshit they can recieve from the news organisations. How they can tie up four hours with nothing is beyond me, unless this is the actuality. The aids they spread just rips into your mind, defiles it, perverts it. Turning a sane person into a sad, pathetic beast that hungers for more of the spoonfed information. They do this because while they defile the minds of those watching, they make them believe in their heart that theirs is the only news service that can honestly give them the answers they want to see, when they need to see it. Despite the fact that all the real camera footage is shot by the same camera man. Only different puppets present it.

Much like how Aids, the real virus, will twist and mutate the pure body. Slowly turning it against itself as it allows more, and more defiling viral entities into the whole. this aids that is projected by the media does the same to the minds, and sanity of those who watch. It's cruel, and wrong, so we give it a cruel, and wrong, name.

a Net Diver is just that. It is someone not content with the information that is spoonfed, and will dive into the net catching all the articles with the news on it as they can. We don't just look at the cover, we read the entire book, or atleast try. A fourteen year old hangs herself, that's not the story. The Story is why she hung herself. It's not the factor that one side claims, we investigate all the attributing factors. Because, we know it's rare for a girl, even one bipolar, to just randomly decide to hang themselves. It can happen, and it has, but in the grand scale of things it takes more than just one hateful IM to do it, or even a series of.

What it all breaks down to is this: We can either stand defiant of the current, or we can be washed away with it.

I need an artist to assist with a Steam-punk, fantasy comic. Preferably digital, and $15 per page. I don't want something highly detailed, a real good example for what I'm searching for would be my user Icon.

While $15 a page seems really lite, I wish to note that as the comic grows in popularity, and the ad-rates on the site increase I will cut the artist in more and more into the profits as long as they, or I, are apart of it. I also fully endorse that the artist, whoever they be, do prints and sell them for their own gains as long as they are apart of the comic. As one my note with Wapsi Square and Underpower, artists who do this after the comic has grown some popularity will make a nice bit of change on their own part and I'll do everything in my ability to help promote these prints for you. Other merchandise will be discussed after the artist has shown interest in if they want to do the comic, or not.

Promotion is a key point I want to do with this comic, as well as putting out a high quality story-line with a talented artist. I do, however, have one demand on my part that must be made clear from the word go: "If you're going to do it, do it."

If you are interested, or know of an artist whom might be, feel free to contact me at either of the following.

E-mail: xhandbasketx@hotmail.com
Aim: IncantationMS

Thank you for your time.
